You Don’t Have To Go Far For Big Adventures

(This post is part of my Onwards and Upwards Blog Event)

This hour I want to continue the adventure theme. I do dream about going to far off places to explore, but in the meantime I need to keep moving onwards by discovering new adventures near home.

Sometimes this can be as simple as going for a walk around the block – I let my son lead the way the other day and he discovered an alleyway I didn’t know existed, and at the end of it was a beautiful tree full of blossom. I need to do this more often and make sure I don’t put the blinkers on!

Days out are a super fun way to have adventures close to home though. Here’s a layout about one such day out last October, when we went to Lyme Regis with some friends:

I had so many photos and memories to record from that day, so I made it into a double-page layout. The photo collage was created in PicMonkey and printed 8×8″ by Photobox, and then I matted it onto white cardstock and then blue cardstock to give it a frame. The supplies are almost all Elle’s Studio Serendipity – this collection is so serene and joyful (and it’s part of the Grand Giveaway)!

I had fun including lots of details to remember how I felt about the day:

And of course lots of gems for a bit of sparkle!

I hope to go on lots more adventures like this!

Be Inspired:

Create a photo collage

Write a lot of journaling

Repeat the same stamp several times to make it stand out more

Remember that commenting on this post, and any other over this weekend, will count as an entry into the Grand Giveaway, but only if you’ve registered your interest in winning that prize right HERE!

See you again at 2pm! x

I love it, perfect colours and sentiments! Love the photo collage. I’ve done a few for my PL spreads but never used one on a proper layout!

  • Fantastic double layout and love the idea of College and then journalling on second page. I tend to always work on single layouts and then struggle with journalling. x

  • I love Lyme Regis, and how you used so many photos on your page. Sometimes a memory or story needs those extra ones

  • We have many beautiful places on our own doorstep. I am guilty of going afar for a holiday as the Uk’s weather is so unpredictable. Great double layout of your lovely day out 🙂

Love your layout! I’m definitely going to try making a collage in PicMonkey next time I have a ton of photos to include. For some reason I didn’t know they had collage templates!

I absolutely agree that you do not have to go far to have great adventures. We ‘discovered’ a local forest this weekend and it was oodles of fun for our little family.

Sounds like a fabulous day! Thank you! Someone else who not only truly journals what happened in the pictures but puts more than one or two pictures on a page! Those are lovely put they don’t really tell me much!

  • I love the title of this post – so many of our best holidays and special moments are relatively close to home (good to remember when we don’t have the funds to travel the globe!)
