Two Hen Party Layouts for NSD Challenges

(Don’t forget to enter my giveaway HERE)

Hello all, I hope that if you have a long weekend where you are then you are enjoying it!

Did you join in with National Scrapbook Day a couple of weeks ago? I didn’t get to join in with too much on the day because my mum came down for a visit, but I did manage to make two of pages over the weekend! They were both for challenges at Two Peas in a Bucket, and they both feature photos from my Belated Hen Party last year.

This one was for a challenge to use This Free Cut File, I had to enter this one since I had only just received my Cricut Explore and was trying it out as much as possible!

Live, Love, Scrapbook:

Live Love Scrapbook by Jennifer Grace using Heidi Swapp Dreamy

On the Sunday morning I got to share my hobby with my girly friends and family! We all had a look back over the photos we’d taken that weekend, then made a page each to go in a Scrapbook album, I’d fill in the gaps with pages like this one! It was fantastic seeing all the different styles they had and how excited they got to see all the pretty paper!

I used mostly the Heidi Swapp Dreamy collection, which I got from the SJ Crafts April Kit. I used the ‘Dreams Come True’ paper for the background, and I cut the ‘Live Love Scrapbook’ from the Free Cut File using the ‘Pink Dream’ paper:

I used an Amy Tangerine Plus One Die Cut Tag above my journaling – I lifted the word gently off the background to give it more dimension:

The background was decorated with Clay Mister Huey Mist and lots of Dreamy embellishments, plus some enamel and wood dots. I also stitched around one corner of the smaller photo:

I rummaged through some odd bits and pieces for items to finish off the page, one thing I found was this butterfly which I punched from scrap paper almost 2 years ago (originally posted HERE), but the colours matched the page perfectly:

Now the next page will take you back in time to the Friday night when we arrived in Oxford and went out for dinner…

Friday Night:

This was for a challenge to use gold, which I love right now so I found several ways to add some!

I used a retired Sweet Stamp Shop stamp to create a firework effect with Metallic Gold Embossing Powder, I sprinkled the background with Gold Mister Huey Mist, and added some Studio Calico Essentials Gold Stars and Gold Enamel Dots:

I also added some Gold Glitter Tape and Gold Airmail Washi Tape above the journaling:

I’d stuck this speech bubble on my page but it looked really dull, then I realised it needed some speech in the bubble, lol:

I love these two fun pages, they fit well into my Hen Party album! I only have a few pages left to complete, I can’t wait to show it off to all the ladies who shared my special weekend with me.

I found NSD super inspiring as there was so much going on all around the world, I love how far reaching this hobby is!

Bye for now, Jennifer x

P.S. Do you know I also post at DT There’s lots of calls closing in the next week, so make sure you take a look and consider applying for one or a few!

  • Fab layouts, Jennifer! Love all the fun embellishments on the first and great way to use the calendar page on the second! 🙂

Such wonderful pages, Jennifer! The cut file ties in so nicely with the tag on your first page.

  • These are both so super cute! I am loving that free cut file on the first one – you picked the perfect color to use for it. And the second page I just want to totally lift. I love the way you’ve used the color gold – I’ve been shy to try it because I know mine would scream “Here’s some gold in your FACE!” LOL But you’ve been able to use it in a way that’s subtle and fun. Love!
