Here’s my project for the hop…

Winter Kisses:

Winter Kisses layout by Jennifer Grace

I have been waiting for the perfect time to scrapbook this photo of my son from last winter – his cute little face makes my heart melt!

I wanted to have lots and lots of ‘snowflakes’ falling at the top of the page, but without distracting too much from the photo. So I made the whole top section of the page into a shaker pouch, by laying a 12″ x 6½” piece of vellum (Elle’s Studio Noel) at the top of a piece of patterned paper (Crate Paper Flea Market – Curio), and machine stitching around three sides. Then I tipped lots of white and greeny-blue sequins, plus an ephemera snowflake, into the pouch, and machine stitched the fourth edge.

Of course I added extra sparkle on top (this is my layout after all), but I love the subtle extra layer the background has, and how it will constantly change as the sequins move about:

When I placed the title on the page I realised the vellum was buckling a bit, so I added a few sparkly white brads to make it lie flatter, and to secure the ephemera snowflake in place behind the vellum – because I didn’t want it to disappear behind my photo or title:

I used embellishments from Crate Paper Bundled Up, Elle’s Studio Noel, a Basic Grey 25th & Pine Chipboard Shape, some Studio Calico Tiny Stars, plus gems and glitter ribbon, to finish off the page:

Be Inspired:

Make a shaker pouch of falling ‘snowflakes’

Use a piece of ephemera or a chipboard element as part of a page title

Add two lines along the bottom of a page or card for a defined border

Have you ever made a shaker pouch?

Now it’s time to send you on to the next stop in the hop… the lovely Annie!

Here’s the full hop list in case you get lost:

.

Don’t forget to leave comments all the way around, and then stop back here to let me know you’re done, so you’ll be entered in the draw to win the prize. {GIVEAWAY NOW CLOSED}

I’ll see you again in an hour!

Jennifer x
