Stones Rock by Jennifer Grace

Stones Rock!

I made this layout for the Crate Paper Navy Blue & Sequins Challenge. Unfortunately I wasn’t chosen as a winner or runner up, but I still love my layout!

This photo was taken when we went fossil hunting at Kimmeridge Bay. My son was too young to find fossils, but he had great fun collecting stones and trying to throw them into the sea!

I stitched some lines on a Summertime Cut Outs card from The Pier collection, as the swirls reminded me of the stings of seaweed he also kept picking up and flicking around. Then I added a little extra to the background by adding glitter to the edges of a piece of ephemera and a wood veneer. I like how using lots of blue and brown meant my page looked boyish despite all the sparkle!

The polka dots are on a piece of paper in the Maggie Holmes collection. I filled several of the dots with a pool of Glossy Accents, which I topped with silver and blue sequins. I think they look like rock pools filled with shells:

I also added a few sequins to some glass pebbles, so they looked like rocks with shells stuck on them.

The backgrounds are also sprinkled with Mister Huey Honor Society and Gold mists, for a little more splash and sparkle!

Have you ever made a really sparkly page about a boy or man? Link me up so I can see!

  • I really love this page Jennifer! I particularly like the pools of sequins because the look so much like water in the way they catch the light in different ways.
