Mmm… Pear and Banana Milkshake

(This post is part of my Refresh Your Craft & Soul Blog Event – see the beginning HERE!)

Yesterday I talked about how I’ve been trying to drink more water, including my Flavoured Water. I admit I haven’t been great at it so far this year, but I’m going to keep trying! What I do find a lot easier is drinking milkshakes and smoothies! They have a few more calories than water, but at least they are a lot better for me than diet coke!

This one is one of my favourite discoveries…

Pear and Banana Milkshake:

Pear and Banana Milkshake at Jennifer Grace Creates

You will need (this makes approx two drinks):

4 kids fun size pears or two normal size pears (should be soft to blend easily)

1 banana

300ml milk

2 tbs of honey (adjust to how sweet your tooth is!)

Peel and chop the pears and banana, put all the ingredients in a blender, and whizz!

It’s so easy to make. We’re going to be drinking lots of these. They certainly were a hit with this little miss:

I have smoothies every now and then. Sure saves money to make them at home. My standard is banana, mango, strawberry, almond milk, orange juice a bit of yogurt and ice. Turns out great all of the time. Banana and pear I will have to try! Sounds great.

I’ve been doing a lot of smoothies lately though I definitely haven’t tried pears. 1. I hadn’t thought of them and 2. I don’t like them. 🙂 Glad to see they’re going excellently in your house. I tend to do a banana/berries/milk/yogurt smoothie, usually with a handful or two of fresh spinach leaves added in.

I must admit we rarely make smoothies or milkshakes in this house and both me and H hate bananas so no way would we try this one although it looks like little Miss loves it. Maybe I’ll try making a smoothie with strawberries as we love them!

I love Orange or strawberry smoothies and triple chocolate milkshakes! In the summer I used to make a lot of coffee milkshakes but haven’t had one in a few years but after thinking about it I am pretty sure one is in my very near future! LOL

I haven’t had a smoothie for ages, but I used to love using strawberries or raspberries because of the amazing colours! :o)

I love smoothies! I just realized pears are a really underutilized fruit in my life. I would never have thought to put bananas with pear! My favorite smoothies are frozen berry mix (cherry, blueberry, strawberry, raspberry) with a bit of strawberry yogurt and a touch of water. Delicous!
