Glitz Uncharted Waters – PaperHaus Projects

The weather has been glorious here for the last week or so, and we’ve been spending lots of time at the beach, so it seems appropriate for me to show you some beach themed projects today.

The layout and home décor piece below were both featured in the PaperHaus Magazine Summer Issue, and I’m allowed to show them to you here now – but don’t forget to check out the magazine for lots more inspiration! Both these projects use the Glitz Designs Uncharted Waters collection which I’ve adored using – I’m sad it’s nearly all gone!

Little Sandman:

I think this is one of my most favourite layouts ever. I love this photo of my son sitting in the wet sand, having the time of his life! I was inspired by the ‘Scallop’ paper, I cut along the scallops and then layered up a few rows of them, pop-dotting them along the top edge, to look like waves lapping the shore. I repeated the effect up the page, pop-dotting other elements just at the top edge, so the whole layout has a gentle flow:

I used a Glitz Woodgrain Roller Doodle to create a pattern on the background to represent driftwood, and I splattered some shimmery mist dots, giant rhinestones, and gems, to reflect the sun on the water:

I used washi tape for a colourful border at the bottom of the page, and I had to add this gorgeous whale swimming through the waves:

 ‘Life is Better’ Driftwood Decor:

Driftwood Decor by Jennifer Grace

I love to visit the beach, and bring a little home with me each time, whether it’s shells, driftwood, or sand in my shoes! I made this piece of home decor to show how near the seaside we live, and to make me smile this summer!

Step by Step: 1. Clean a 5×7 piece of glass, adhere a paper layer onto it using glossy Mod Podge underneath and Sparkle Mod Podge on top. 2. Carefully gouge a hole in a sturdy piece of driftwood, for the base of the glass to slot into. Glue it in with Glossy Accents.

3. Add a piece of a paper doily to the top of the décor using Glossy Mod Podge. Then use a hot glue gun to adhere shells, beads, a Glitz Giant Rhinestone, and other embellishments to the paper layer and the driftwood.

4. Display somewhere!  We have it on our mantelpiece for the summer.

What do you think? Do you love the beach? Are you wishing you had your toes in the sand right now?

I think I’ll have to take another trip to the beach very soon!

Talking of PaperHaus, I’ve just realised I never announced a winner from the PaperHaus Summer Issue Blog Hop. Sorry – I don’t know how that slipped past me! The winner of the Epiphany Crafts Tool is:

Vicki Parker!

Thanks to everyone who entered! Vicki you need to drop me an email at jennifergrace (at) hotmail (dot) co (dot) uk so I can mail your prize to you.

Bye for now, x
