Glitz Finnley – My Heart Flutters!
You may remember my CHA Summer 2013 products picks, when Glitz’s Finnley collection was top of my list. I couldn’t wait to get hold of it, and I was not disappointed by the gorgeous colours and adorable owls and deer. Here’s what I’ve done with it so far…
The collection has a hint of a baby theme, so I decided to start off with a baby layout, to use my favourite bits like the owl and the moon from the Whatnots, and the journal sticker with two little deer and some hearts on, from the Title and Accents Sticker Sheet. It’s all layered onto the ‘b’ side of the ‘Drip’ paper, which I sprinkled some dark grey mist onto as well…
My Little Man:
I lined up some of the words from the Alpha and Words Sticker Sheet with some scraps of ribbon – the ribbons are stitched along their left edge only so they can flutter a little on the page:
I coated the moon with some Crystal Stickles, and added a small black pearl onto each of the owl’s eyes:
The journaling reads:
‘I’ve always called you ‘my little man’ – even with that baby skin and bright eyes I could always see you thinking, looking, and learning.
I love putting these chunky, grandad-style cardigans on you to show off your cute face and your wise spirit! xxx’
I love how this collection doesn’t have to be just for baby themed projects, and it’s also perfect for boys or girls. My next page is about my daughter during autumn last year, when we discovered a caterpillar during a walk in the forest…
It’s The Little Things:
I used the Feather Roller Doodle with a few different ink colours to resemble a pile of autumn leaves at the base of the page. I also used an arrow from the sticker sheet to point down at the caterpillar so it’s more obvious what she’s looking at:
I had so much fun layering up this area with Whatnots and a card from the Bits & Pieces. I know the layout isn’t about deer but we did see some in the distance that day, so I decided it was allowed:
This card which says ‘It’s the Little Things’ (also from the Bits & Pieces) was perfect for my page title:
The sentence ‘It took you ages to see this little fuzzy caterpillar’ was enough journaling for this page. The wood veneers I added are from Freckled Fawn, I think the wood goes well with the forest background!
Finally, as it’s World Cardmaking Day today, I couldn’t leave without sharing a card:
My friend has a baby due in a couple of weeks and she doesn’t know if it will be a boy or girl, I figure this card will work either way! I heat embossed the Feather Roller Doodle with gold embossing powder, and I love how it looks so I will be using that again!
I’m also in love with the Stag rhinestone from the Giant Rhinestones set. In fact I loved the whole pack of these rhinestones so much that I’ve ordered another set! They are just dreamy.
What do you think? Does the collection make your heart flutter as much as it does mine?
Have a great day, Jennifer x
