Focus Your Craft & Soul Blog Event at Jennifer Grace Creates 15th-17th May 2015

Focus Your Craft & Soul Announcement & Giveaway!

Ooh, the next (completely FREE) blog event here at Jennifer Grace Creates is fast approaching! I’m here to tell you all about it, and I have a giveaway to entice you to spread the news!

It’s time to Focus Your Craft & Soul…

Focus Your Craft & Soul Blog Event at Jennifer Grace Creates 15th-17th May 2015

Mark your calendars for May the 15th – 17th!

The theme for the event is loosely based on my word-of-the-year ‘Focus’. This will cover a variety of ideas on how to focus your crafting, about living in the moment, making sure you appreciate the little things, and how to use focal points. We’ll also be using a lot of icons like targets, frames, arrows, triangles, and cameras!

The event will follow the same format as my previous Blog Events, with posts from 4pm – 10pm Friday, and 10am – 10pm Saturday and Sunday (times all BST). There will be lots of crafts, tutorials, challenges, a blog hop, and of course some lovely giveaways! The giveaways AND challenges will all stay open for a week this time to give you a chance to keep up with commenting and creating.

If you would like to be part of the Blog Hop please email me at jennifergrace(at)hotmail(dot)co(dot)uk by Friday the 24th of April!

Let’s kick things off with the announcement giveaway! I have this prize for one lucky person:

Giveaway Prize To Announce Focus Your Craft & Soul Blog Event at Jennifer Grace Creates (This Giveaway Closes 11th May)

It includes 7 sheets of paper and two sets of stickers from the Webster’s Pages Dream In Color collection, plus a pack of MME On Trend enamel shapes, a couple of wood veneer cameras and some sequins.

To enter this giveaway you need to use the rafflecopter widget below. One of the options is to leave a blog post comment telling me what helps you get focused on your crafting (eg challenges, new stash, or a clean craft room… what makes you more efficient?) – please note you need to leave a comment AND click on the rafflecopter widget to say you’ve done so, as that’s where the winner will be chosen from. There are also ways to earn more entries by sharing the news on Pinterest, Twitter, etc.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

The giveaway closes on Tuesday the 12th of May at 12.00am GMT, and will be announced a day or two later here on this blog. It is open internationally.

Of course you can always comment and share news of the event without entering the giveaway if you would like to!

You can also ‘like’ my Jennifer Grace Creates Facebook Page for sneaks and a ‘guess the projects’ contest (with another prize) in the run up to the event!

Thanks so much for taking the time to read all this, I hope you are excited about the event, I will look forward to seeing you then!

  • Oh darn! I’ll be out of town that weekend. And I’m being so much more focused this year. I would have loved to participate. Maybe I’ll try to pop in on Sunday but I’m usually beat when I return from these trips.
    Have a great event!

    Hi Jennifer

I am on holiday that week but i can pack a travel kit and get it done on the beach if the weather is nice, i dont mind as its cheaper then those arcades. what usually gets me focused are the sketches as it helps start off a layout. Sometimes i take the best bits off a couple of sketches when creating a page.

I like to look at my pinterest board to get ideas and “focus” my attention on a project. Thanks for the chance. You always have such inspiring online events!

    April 17, 2015 at 9:30 pm
  • Yay! I should be able to take part this time – I’m busy over the weekend but can catch up. I will look forward to that.

What helps me to keep focus? Goals, courses, new ideas and planning my own workshops and swaps. It’s good to have a sense of purpose and achievement.

A clean desk and a set of new pens always puts me in the crafting mood.

    April 17, 2015 at 10:56 pm
  • Rafflecopter says it expires in 2013 . Creativity is hard to pin down to one stimulus. In my case it is the photo or the challenge that starts me off. I sometimes think about it for an hour or more before sitting down & doing it.

    April 17, 2015 at 11:50 pm
  • Definitely a clean space to scrap in, but also great criteria… I need that! 🙂

    April 17, 2015 at 11:51 pm
  • Probably product or photo run a pretty close race to inspire me. Not necessarily new product, but something will suggest a certain general topic or theme. So excited for this again! Thanks for all the work 🙂

A whole bunch of things can get me moving. A clean table definitely helps, a good challenge that fits my current wants/needs/style is always a bonus. The big one, desire and mojo.

  • When I sit down for a crafty session, I sometimes start with a well known layout for my project; one I don’t really have to think about, just doing it. Then I am in my crafty mode and can be more open to new things!

  • Lisa Hausmann

Most of all, I get focused by having a clear space and beautiful products I want to use – most of the time those products are in a self-made kit (a la Counterfeit Kit Challenge). I usually have something i want to say or a technique I want to try and if it’s related to a challenge, then it’s always last minute which certainly helps me to focus! I like to create alone, with a podcast running in the background and to use photos I love. Can’t wait for your event 🙂 You are awesome Jennifer!

I am someone who works best with a deadline. So I find having a lot of birthdays or a charity event I need to make items for motivates me. I am not someone who gets inspired just sitting around dreaming! I need a purpose!

What a great time of the year for a big giveaway. I wish I had seen you were looking for people for the Blog Hop. I Love doing them. One thing that keeps me focused is organization but in the craft world that is easier said than done 🙂 I join groups on Facebook that do swaps with each other. That keeps me going because I have others depending on me too. Getting ready for a party or celebration and making decorations also keeps me going. If it has anything to do with crafting something all my family and friends turn to me. Thanks for a great giveaway!!!

    May 11, 2015 at 6:01 pm
  • Having a tidy up of my stash

    May 11, 2015 at 6:43 pm
  • What keeps me focused is clear space and some sort of workflow. I also try to group supplies together for a project. I try to have a designated area for stamping, sewing, wet and paint projects, and scrapbooking. Oh yes and if I see something I like and want to recreate or try I will do it right then and there because this way I have created focus and don’t let things pile up and never get to them.
