Elle’s Studio Sweet & Sunny Layouts

Hello! Sorry I haven’t been posting very frequently lately. The summer holidays are in full swing here and we’ve been busy with days out and visits, making memories to scrapbook in the future! I’ve also been working behind the scenes at the SJ Crafts Blog, and I’ve taken over the DT Calls Website and Facebook Page, so I have been busy there too!  I’ll be here again more often in September.

I do have a couple of layouts to show you today – thanks to Elle’s Studio posing a challenge that I just couldn’t resist (I think it’s closed now). It was a ‘Use you Stash’ challenge, to get some projects made and uploaded to the Elle’s Studio Member’s Gallery this past weekend. With the chance to win a $50 gift card or a new collection, I just had to enter a page or two. Here’s what I came up with:

Endless Sweets:

These sweets were left over from my daughter’s birthday party. We love sweets but we’re usually careful not to eat too many – these one’s didn’t last long though!

The background of this page is all one sheet of You & Me ‘All My Heart’ paper. I used a dinner plate and a craft knife to cute the circle from the centre of the page, then flipped the circle over and glued them both onto a piece of brown cardstock. They didn’t quite meet up so I zig-zag stitched around the circle to make it look more melded, and covered up any bigger gaps with my embellishments!

I also had fun scattering little details around the page to resemble loose sweets – I used wood veneer hearts and enamel dots (both Freckled Fawn), some pink gems by Kars, Waco Pearl Paint Pens in white and turquoise, and a few blue sequins. The ‘Life is Good’ wood veneer is Studio Calico:

Best Breakfast:

This breakfast was one to remember – it was during my hen party weekend and we ate delicious sausage sandwiches! I tried to reflect the weather that day with the papers – it was a drizzly and rainy day, but the sun kept bursting through.

I cut the sun from the Day to Day ‘Good Morning’ paper using a Studio Calico Burst Mask as a template:

I had so much fun making these layouts, and it feels great that there’s now a nice dent in my Elle’s Studio stash – which of course means I’m allowed to buy more! Right?!

I’m taking the kids to visit my family in Kent this week, so I’m sure I’ll be making lots more memories! See you soon, x

  • Wonderful pages! Love the polka dot circle on the first. On a page about sweets, it reminds me of a donut with sprinkles! 🙂

Such happy pages, these. I’ve been hoarding my Elle’s Studio stash for far too long. Thanks for the nudge to get it out.
