A Challenge – To Use Red and Blue
(This post is part of my Frosty Festivities 2013 Blog Event)
Sorry things are running a little late here, I’m having a few difficulties finishing the posts off, but I’ll catch up as much as possible!
It’s time for the last prize challenge for the weekend (still more inspiration posts and another giveaway to come!), this time it’s to use red and blue as the dominant colours on your project! Red and blue are the perfect combination of Christmas (red) and Winter (blue), so using them together will make a wonderfully festive and frosty project!
The winner of this challenge will receive this prize:
Some Studio Calico Wonderland items, including 3 sheets of paper, the alpha sticker sheet, and an ephemera pack!
Here’s a layout for a bit of inspiration…
My supplies are mainly from the My Mind’s Eye All Is Bright collection.
I love starting new traditions with my children, as well as carrying on old ones that I’ve done since I was small. This one is definitely new – a mummy and daughter nail painting session that I know will become a yearly fixture!
I love to use ledger background paper when I have a bit more journaling to write, and this one was perfect because the lines were red and blue:
But at the bottom of the paper there was a lot of detail – I covered some up on the right hand side with the large doily, and then I made the left hand corner work by clustering lots of embellishments around it to make it a focal point for the page:
The ‘tradition’ word is a sticker, and the ’tis the season’ part is stamped – I like it that you can’t easily tell which parts were on the paper already and which ones I’ve added on!
Cluster embellishments around a detail on your patterned paper
Use ledger paper and write extra journaling
Embrace a red and blue colour combination
Have you started any new Christmas traditions lately?
